Washington, D.C. – Global ARM issued the following statement on today’s signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the United States and Armenia.
“Global ARM commends today’s signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement between the United States and Armenia focused on expanded cooperation on economic matters, energy connectivity, defense and security, democracy, justice, and people-to-people exchanges. Economic and security ties continue to grow, and this agreement is the culmination of the deepening of this important partnership.
Support for a U.S.-Armenia Strategic Partnership has strong, bipartisan support in Washington. Global ARM views this agreement as just a first step towards a deeper bilateral relationship. Today’s historic announcement presents an opportunity for the incoming administration to build upon the progress that has been made to strengthen bilateral ties during the Biden Administration. We look forward to working with the incoming Trump Administration to bolster U.S.-Armenia collaboration relationship in all areas.
We also look forward to working closely with the Trump Administration to achieve justice for ethnic Armenians victimized by Azerbaijan’s relentless aggression. Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing occupation of sovereign Armenian territory and illegal detention of ethnic Armenian prisoners are major obstacles to achieving a dignified and durable peace agreement.”
